Working paper 1: Organizing in this surge following Trump's election (latest version 7 January 2017) began in late November 2016 when a colleague asked me what organizers should keep in mind in the new context created by Donald Trump's 8 November 2016 election as president of the United States. I typed up some ideas, sent them to people whose thoughts I valued, collected feedback, and sent an expanded version in late December 2016 to the subscribers to my email list. After minor revisions, I posted it here in early January 2017.
